Talent Pool were delighted to attend this year’s Battle of the Bands at Bolton School, which was judged by none other than the iconic Tony Wadsworth, former CEO of EMI Music England and Ireland and chairman of the British Phonographic Industry. An ex-pupil of the school himself, Mr Wadsworth follows a line of celebrity judges that this competition has attracted over the years, such as DJ Andy Peebles and Old Boy Mark Radcliffe.
Talented young bands such as Absolution, Cranked Up, Cynical City, This Island Earth and Why Not participated in a close competition, with Absolution eventually being awarded the worthy winners. The bands performed exceedingly brilliant covers of songs by artists such as Arctic Monkeys and Guns ‘n’ Roses, and even some of their own original tracks. Talent Pool sponsored the event with the winning prize, which was a recording session at our very own studio in Bolton.
Check back soon to hear the winning track, as performed by Absolution!
