LOCAL SPOTLIGHT: RAWKUS! at Blind Tiger * looking for bands *

There’s great hype building around BLIND TIGER, the recently opened music venue in  Bolton town centre. Blind Tiger the largest live music venue in the town centre and as well as setting sights on musical events, the bar is building a reputation for having a fine selection of guest beers and ciders from across the globe, a fantastic array of cocktails and wide selection of unusual gins, malts, rums, vodkas and bourbons.

One of the regular promotions that is taking place at the venue is RAWKUS! – a night designed to provide an alternative and fun place to go for people of all ages. Talent Pool caught up with the organiser or RAWKUS!, Karl Riley, to discuss what his night has to offer.

RAWKUS! will take place on the first Tuesday of every month with the launch party on October 2nd. It will provide a good night out in the town centre where you can expect low drinks prices, a good atmosphere and music catering for those we are looking for those looking for heavier sounds, ie: Metal, Rock, Pop Punk and Hardcore. Karl was keen to get involved with Blind Tiger because of the venue’s incredible layout over two levels with multiple dance floors and drinks selection. RAWKUS! will add much needed variation to the clubs/bars that are already operating in Bolton, the layout providing different areas for customers to hang out, breaking up the monotony of a regular night out.

People will be able to dance and enjoy heavy music that has spanned the last 20 years or more, although the DJ’s are working on a request-friendly basis to ensure maximum crowd satisfaction. DJs who have previously spun at Jilly’s Rockworld (Manchester) and The Tache (Blackpool) will be stocked up with a huge variety of Rock, Metal, Pop Punk and Hardcore tunes, creating the best alternative night out possible.

Alongside the RAWKUS! club night, there will also be live shows under the same banner, featuring touring and local bands. The RAWKUS! ethos is to promote the local alternative scene and encourage music fans to support the bands and venues. If anybody wants to put forward suggestions for bands they would like to see or put their band forward as a local support, they can do this by messaging the RAWKUS! Facebook page or by emailing rawkusbolton@hotmail.
