MOJOFLUXX to appear on BBC Introducing

Since we last spoke to MojoFluxx in September, they’ve been a pair of busy lads, working with a lot of great producers and DJs from the House & Bass/ Electro House scene recent months. One of the duo’s latest achievements is an invite to play a live session on BBC Radio Lancashire on the 8th June.

If you’re not familiar with their work, MojoFluxx is made up of two mates, Al English and Gilly, who like to experiment with lots of different styles. They pride themselves on being unique, utilising very eclectic and diverse tastes in music and enjoying everything from Deep House to Dub Reggae! You can always hear MojoFluxx’s quirky and recognisable style in their music. “We don’t like to pigeonhole ourselves and pride ourselves in creating original music and like to mix it up as much as possible.” You may also remember the MojoFluxx track “Sly Like That”, which got through to the top five finalists in the Talent Pool song writing competition last spring.

As mentioned above, June 2013 has been an important milestone for MojoFluxx – they have been in contact once again with the guys at BBC Radio, who have invited Al and Gilly to perform a session which will be broadcast LIVE on 8th June on “BBC Introducing”, BBC Radio Lancashire. They have also booked on to the bill for the Sunset to Sunrise Festival (29th June), which is an all-day event at Blackpool North Pier organised by Bolton brand ‘Sunrise Events’. MojoFluxx have been working closely with Sunrise over the last year, but this event has received massive interest and is looking like it will be a sell-out. The event also features UK Garage pioneers ‘DJ Luck and MC Neat’ performing live, “we were both at school when these guys were in the charts so it’s nice to be on the same line up for sure!”

The duo has lots of ideas in the pipeline for the future, which is looking to be a bright one. “We aim to get abroad next year and take the sound overseas – Find it very hard to say what we will be doing in 10 years as in this game anything happens! We will definitely still be enjoying ourselves making music though whatever happens – It’s all we know!” The pair enjoy scripting, filming and editing their own music videos in house. You may recall Talent Pool featured a track called ‘Bump in the Night’ last September, which was released at Halloween time. MojoFluxx are currently working on another video for a track called ‘The Zone’, which is just as creative and is once again all filmed in Bolton.

Listen out for MojoFluxx on the 8th June –  BBC Radio Lancashire 95.5 – 103.9 FM. (Please check BBC Introducing program information for scheduled times)

MOJOFLUXX “Sly Like That”

Produced and mixed by Al English, edited by Phil Nelson

Al, who wrote and produced the track had to say this: ” ‘Sly Like That’ is a satisfying blend of Dweller and G-Illy’s addictive, catchy rap vocals combined with toe-tapping Electro House music to give you a track capable of destroying any club dance floor!”
